Question 59 -Will Satan Ever Die?
Dear Reader, please take a moment to ask God to send His Holy Spirit to be your only Guide as we continue! A true understanding of this question will be extremely helpful in clearing up other Doctrines of Demons that Satan has implanted into Christianity.Thank You SO much!!
Before beginning this study, we need to point out just how much Satan hates for humans to know the truth about his death. Most main stream Christian Denominations declare emphatically that Satan will not die, and cannot die. These Churches declare that those disagreeing with them are all, "CULTS." Well...Ezekiel was not in a Cult, so let's see what he wrote under the inspiration of God's Holy Spirit.

What the Bible Says About the Death of the Devil
The Lord instructed Ezekiel to write the following. Because of the context, no Bible student disputes that this is actually written directly to Satan: "I will DESTROY thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire" (Ezk.28:16). "I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee; it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee; thou shall be a (in) terror, and NEVER SHALT THOU BE ANY MORE" (Vss.18-19). What does, "Destroy," mean? Are the words, "Never shalt thou be any more," difficult to understand?  The majority of Christians and Christian Ministers, attempt to reverse, revise, or reject these words from Ezekiel. In other words, they are actually saying, "Nay, Ezekiel!! Thou art WRONG!"  These Ministers say, "Satan's body will die, but his Soul or Spirit lives on in Hell, just like us humans"  Some of those declaring such stop and realize that what they are saying cannot be, because, "Satan has no "Body." He is not at all like humans! Satan and his Demons (Evil Spirits) are already in Spirit form! Can a Spirit with no flesh and blood be turned into ashes? And if a Spirit dies, is it truly dead?" A serious seeker of truth will at least do a little Bible investigation. Let's do it!

"Never Shalt THOU be Any More"
Notice God didn't say, "Never shalt thy body be any more, but thy spirit shall live on forever." Thus, when God says, "Never shalt THOU be any more," can He be referring to Satan's physical body, or, to Satan in his entirety? These words from the Lord are very clear, and it will take some serious tweaking and twisting to reverse what He said. Perhaps God meant exactly what He said.  He always does!

More Scriptures about Satan Dying
"Thou (King of Tyre - Actually Lucifer/Satan) shalt DIE the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers! For I have spoken it, saith the Lord" (Ez 28 :10)! "Thou art the Anointed Cherub that Covereth" (Vs.14)(the king of Tyre was never an angel) "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee" (Vs.15) "Therefore I Will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, and I will bring thee to ASHES upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee! And they that know thee shall be astonished at thee! Thou shalt be a [in] terror, and NEVER shalt Thou be Any More" (Vss.18-19)!

Rebuttal
Those who teach the view that Satan will never die claim they have an explanation. They admit that Ezekiel is clearly addressing Satan, but because Ezekiel uses the King of Tyre to begin his reference to Satan, Naysayers say the part about dying, and never being any more is a reference to the King of Tyre and not to Satan.

Rebuttal to the Rebuttal
We answer their rebuttal by saying the King of Tyre was never, "full of wisdom and perfect in beauty." He was never, "in Eden, the Garden of God." He was never the, "Anointed Cherub that Covereth." He was never, "Upon the Holy Mountain of God, and walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire." The King of Tyre was born like all humans. He was not, "created." But Ezekiel says the creature he referred to was, "Perfect in his ways from the day he was created till iniquity was found in him." If none of these statements can refer to the King of Tyre, then we must say the same concerning the part about God, "Bringing him to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all of them that behold thee." The Lord also said concerning this fire, "it shall devour thee." Those claiming that Satan cannot die then revert to the argument that even though Satan is destroyed at this time, it only appears he is destroyed, and he is transferred to Hell somewhere else. These naysayers have a choice. They must either say that Ezekiel totally misunderstood what God said, and thus reversed the words of the Lord, or, they must say that when the Lord said, "Never shalt thou be any more," the Lord was incorrect. Again, tweaking, twisting, and reversing the words of the Lord is not the way to discover and understand Bible Truth.

"It Shall Devour Thee"
In the last sentences in the above Bible quote, we underscored several words that are significant. Notice, "ashes," "earth," "all," and "devour." Satan will die on this earth when this earth is brought to ashes at a time when all humans who ever lived on this earth are present, and that fire shall devour him, and, "Never shall he be any more" (Ezk.28:19)(See also 2Pet.3:7 and 10).

"Fire From God Devoured Them"
By comparing Scripture with Scripture we can know exactly when and where Ezekiel's Prophecy will be fulfilled. "And they (Satan and his army at the end of the Millennium) went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the Beloved City; and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. And the Devil (Satan) that deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone" (Rev.20:9-10). This Lake of Fire from God out of heaven occurs immediately after the Great White Throne Judgment (see Vss.13-15). So, does Satan die? The Bible says he will. The opposers have only one rebuttal, and we've mentioned it already in this Blogsite. They say Satan's body dies, but, like us humans, his Soul lives on. The opposers tell us that no "Soul" can ever die, EVER! Let's look a little closer at it:

Satan Has No Flesh & Blood Body
If God says to Satan, "Thou Shalt Die," God is speaking to Satan the Evil Spirit, that is, SATAN in his entirety!  Nowhere in Scripture is there a single Bible text that says Satan will live forever! They can attempt to define "Spirits" and "Souls" based on their definitions of what they believe Spirits and Souls to be, but truth must be based on Scripture. Our Preachers tell us that when an Angel was created by God, it can never die.  The Preachers also tell us that once a human is born, he or she has a "Soul" that cannot die, even though the body dies. Promoters of this view tell us they have Bible proof that Soul's cannot die. Let's look.

Body and Soul
Promoters of the doctrine of, "Souls Live Forever," say the Bible agrees with them. For example they quote the words of Jesus: "Fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul" (Matt.10:28). WOW!! That seems to be proof positive! But, as with any Bible subject, we must look at the context. So, let's look at the whole statement from Jesus: "And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell" (Matt.10:28). Christ's words are clear. Bad people might kill us, and even Satan might inflict us with an illness that can kill us, but Jesus can resurrect us. Satan cannot even kill the lost wicked, because at the end of the Millennium, they too are resurrected and live again. However, Jesus made it abundantly clear that when He destroys this earth with fire at the end of the Millennium, after the Great White Throne Judgment, body and soul will be destroyed.

Souls Die
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Ezekiel wrote, "The Soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezk.18:4)! Notice it doesn't say, "The Soul that sinneth, it's body shall die, but the Soul shall live forever in Hell!" Obviously Satan is a Soul that sinneth, thus he will die.

Satan in the Lake of Fire and Brimstone
"And they (Satan with his Gog and Magog army) went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the Beloved City; and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the Devil (Satan) that deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, where the Beast and the False Prophet are, and they shall be tormented day
and night forever and ever" (Rev.20:9-10). And the opposers could say, "You SEE!!! There it is!! The Bible clearly says that Satan, Antichrist, and the False Prophet, and all the lost wicked will be, 'Tormented day and night forever and ever'." A surface reading might make it appear so, and, if not for Bible evidence to the contrary, we could make this conclusion. However, let's look closer. So, what does the above vision from John tell us? It proves that the fire described here as, "Fire coming down from God out of heaven," actually becomes the, "Lake of Fire" into which Satan is cast. And, what happens to all who are cast into this Lake of Fire? The Bible explains: "And death and Hell (Hades) were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the Second Death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire" (Rev.20:14-15). We saw in the first Scripture in this section that, "The Devil (Satan) that deceived them was cast into the Lake of Fire," and we see in this last Verse that this Lake of Fire is the, "Second Death." Thus Satan will meet his, "Death," in the Lake of Fire. We know for certain that his name is NOT found in the Book of Life! We also know that if Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire, this fire will not kill his body, but allow his, "Spirit" to live on. If the Lake of Fire brings about, "Death," then the evil Spirit Creature, Satan, will die. All Demons will die also. God's Planet earth, as well as God's Universe, will be forever cleansed. No more Satan, no more Demons, and no more sinners.

Day and Night Forever and Ever
We have another Blogsite that carefully examines all of the, "Day and Night Forever and Ever," Bible statements. See "Day and Night Forever and Ever." Also see, "Hell - Punishment of the Lost Wicked." So, rather than going through those Bible statements, we ask our Readers to check out these Blogsites. Anyone carefully examining all of the Bible evidence should have no problem discovering the real truth. At the end of this Blogsite we list several of our Blogsites that examine Death and Hell.

Greek Mythology
Much of main stream Christianity's teachings about Satan and Hell comes from Greek Mythology and not the Bible. Christians should recognize this because, with all of the information available to us today, it is glaringly clear that Greek Mythology was designed by Satan himself. We must stop allowing Greek Mythology dictate Christian Theology! Satan loves the silly stories about him in charge of Hell with his little pitch fork and goofy grin. Such foolishness has been dismissed by serious Bible students, and it's past time for all other Mythology to be soundly rejected. Thousands of good Ministers have done exactly this, and many have had the courage to share their knowledge with their congregations. What we've looked at here from Ezekiel is a small sample of the proof texts about Satan and his demons dying. The Bible teaches that immediately after the Great White Throne Judgment, fire comes down from God out of heaven. This fire engulfs the entire planet earth, and this fire is, Hell, and the only Hell the Bible ever refers to. Thus Hell destroys every trace of sin, including Satan and his Demons. When Hell has done it's job of purification, Jesus will once again, "Create a New Heavens and a New Earth, in which dwelleth righteousness" (2Pet.3:13)!!!
